Why Ribbons Are Just A Start

Malnutrition in this country, and worldwide, is astronomical. And, the sad part - or maybe I should say easiest way - is for those “who have” to help those “who don’t.”

Just to put things in perspective, here’s a quote from Wikipedia.org:

As of 2008, malnutrition continues to be a worldwide problem, particularly in lesser developed countries. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, “850 million people worldwide were undernourished in 1999 to 2005, the most recent years for which figures are available” and the number of malnourished people has recently been increasing. An orange awareness ribbon is used to raise awareness of malnutrition in the world. The FAO calculates undernourishment by comparing the amount of food available in a country at national level with how many people live in the country.

Feel free to right click and copy this ribbon for display on your website and/or blog.

Awareness is just the beginning…

Then I think about the people who are just hanging on - how they have to choose between filling their gas tank and filling their kids stomachs, and it just breaks my heart.

When times are tough, at least for me, it’s even more important to Continue reading click here…
